A Look at All Three Generations of Volvo S70

Volvo V70 is third generation in production, it has been a part of Volvo from more than 25 years and it is one of a kind five door carrying vehicle. Its primary production that runs from 1997 to 2000 was not created by an individual idea; it's more of a Volvo 850 that was later named as Volvo V70. At earlier stage, it was introduced as only carrying vehicle with front and all wheel versions; later on company launched two more models, XC70 & Cross Country XC.

A Look at Second Generation Volvo S70

The second production of Volvo V70 was designed thoughtfully by Peter Horburry, he added P2 platform that made it more efficient in driving and it includes features such as in increased height with 4 cm, longer wheelbase with 5cm, reduces its initial length and interior cargo volume was increased a bit. Unlike first production it includes variation in all wheel drive and the vehicle was publicised as V70 XS and later as XC70.

A Look at Third Generation Volvo S70

Third production Volvo V70 was introduced in 2008 with Ford EUCD platform and since then it was publicised as V70 and XC70, which is all wheel drive version. However, its marketing as V70 was stopped in North America in 2010.

Secret behind the Name

Its name V70 is named thoughtfully as V represents versatility or Volvo and the 70 is actually a series number like V60, V70, V80, etc.

Volvo is a reliable name in carrying/wagon vehicle as well as luxury personal vehicle.
