The Swedish automaker name swab manufactured this Saab 9-3 model which is an executive vehicle and shares its GM Epsilon policy with Cadillac and Opel Vectra which are manufactured on the same line in Sweden till 2009.this Saab 9-3 model is the latest Saab’s entry level model available in the market in only three various body styles, estate, convertibility and saloon. This cabriolet edition was manufactured until 2010 by Magna Steyr in Austria and then its production shifted to Trollhattan.

Its pre production models

On September 19, in the year 2013, National Electric Vehicle, Sweden, picked up the production of Saab 9-3 version once again in Trollhattan assemblage plant. Moreover, two versions of Saab 9-3 were manufactured as pre production versions in order to standardize the assemble machinery and new test components. The only difference found in exterior was the shortage of Griffin badge of which NEVs has no rights to own it genuinely. After that Griffin was changed displaying a Saab logo on it as badge.

New versions and their launch

Later in 2011 February, the owners of Saab proclaimed that the latest version of this model is going to be launched in the year 2012 as 2013 model which as fully based on the phoenix platform of Saab engaged in the Saab phoenix conception vehicle. As it is designed and planned by Jason Castriota, it was generally planned to make available as a hatch back, convertible, crossover and combi vehicle. It also has features of new Saab IQon standard infotainment system.

Reasons for its delay in launch

Due to the bankruptcy by Saab and the subsequent sale of Marque’s, this third generation Saab 9-3 model was put on hold and the new proprietor of Saab estate mentioned that they like to start the production of an all electric 9-3 e power vehicle from the year 2013. And regarding this, initial reports and information indicates that this version of vehicle is fully based on second generation 9-3 version but not on the Jason Catriota and phoenix platform which are highlighted designs and initially planned only for manufacturing and production.
