Renault Twingo: Why Do You Need A New Car?

Presented to the world market for the first time in September, 1992 at the Paris Motor Show, the city car, the Twingo is manufactured by Renault. Primarily, Its first generation was launched to the continental European markets in 1993, while the second generation of the car was launched to the market in the summers of 2007.

The name Twango is a combination of Tango, Swing and Twists.

The Timeline of the Second Generation

The concept for the 2nd generation of Twingo was introduced at the Mondial de I’Automobile in 2006, for which the production version was presented in 2007 at the Geneva Motor Show. Based on the Renalut Clio II’s floorpan, the floorpan of this car is improved drastically in terms of crash protection and strength.

The production was initially carried out in the France, from where it was transferred to revoz Plant, Novo Mesto, Slovenia. Initially, it was sold in the markets of Slovenia, Italy & France, beginning on June 15, 2007, which was extended to other parts of the Europe plus Ireland & UK on 4 September, 2007.

Engine Specification

The 1.2-liter petrol engine for this car is available in three different versions, naturally aspirated 8-valve and 16-valve engines producing 60hp and 75hp power ratings and a turbocharged 16-valve engine producing 100hp power.

The 1.5-liter diesel engine provides a 65hp power with dCi unit.
