Renault Clio: Why Buy?

Renault Clio - A substantial commercial success

The Renault Clio was launched as a super-mini car in 1990 by the French car manufacturer Renault. 2012 saw the fourth generation of the car being rolled out.

It has seen substantial success since its launch. It is one the top selling cars in Europe. It restored Renault’s reputation in the market after the difficult phase that the company faced towards the end of the 1980’s. Apart from the Volkswagen Golf, the Clio comes second to winning the European Car of the Year Award in 1991 and 2006.

In Japan however, the Renault Clio is known as the Renault Lutecia. This was because the name CLIO clashed with Honda’s sales network in Japan which is called Honda Clio.
