In Leipzig, Germany, between the years 2004-2007, a mid engine sports car named Porsche Carrera GT was manufactured with project code 980 by Porsche. This sports vehicle was internationally given name as Carrera GT on top in the record of top sports cars of 2000s and in the record of all times top sports car, it was placed on eight position.

Engine and performance

This model is motorized by a 5.7 liter V10 engine which produces 612 hp while the original version of car is featured with 5.5 liter engine and rated at 558 hp. essentially, it is declared that this engine will increase speed from 0 to 100 km per hour in time of 3.9 seconds. It gives greatest speed of 330 km per hour. While it is tested and driven on roads, it indicated that it can increase speed from 0 to 60 mph within 3.5 seconds and in 6.8 seconds, it gives a speed of 1-100 km per hour.

Available colors and shades

This Carrera GT is available in five color shades like Fayence Yellow, GT silver, seal grey, Basalt Black and Guards Red. Later, in this version, custom colors were available directly from the company. And you have six- speed manual transmission available in these models. There is a gearbox with a beech wood gear knob which gives service to the wooden gear knob and this is used in the Porsche 917 Le Mans racers to make the drive safe. In the next year of production, the manufacturer’s introduced a carbon fibre knob and made it available in the model.

Brakes and handling system

This Carrera GT comes with large side inlets with air dams to keep the V10 engine cool and easy to function. This engine is framed using the fibre of carbon in rear bonnet which helps to keep the parts of engine cool and functional. It is built-in with Porsche’s new Carbon fibre resistant silicon Carbide ceramic compound brake system with 25 inches brakes of carbon which makes the appearance very impressive. It is available under the 29 inch and front and back wheels of 20 inches. And alike to other Porsche car models like 911; this GT has a mechanical rear wing spoiler in order to organize the speed above 70 km per hour.
