The car can be also equipped either with 1.4-liter diesel engine with capacity of 68 liters or a 1.6-liter HDi diesel engine with capacities of 92 and 115 liters to choose from. It consumes less fuel which is great advantage of the model. The petrol version has a start-stop system.

In addition, Peugeot 2008 features the use of a grip control, an advanced stabilization and traction system. There are several switches on the center console, including the following: ESP Off, Sand, All Terrain, Snow and Standart.
