A Look at the Lifetime of Opel Omega

Opel Omega, a part of Opel from 1986, the car is in second generation, both productions of this car were done under Opel owned Russelsheim, Germany plant. Opel Omega entered in the markets at 1986 after replacing Opel Rekord and the car includes two models, SUV and saloon. In 1987 it received European Car Of The year Award. The first production of the car happened during 1986 to 1993. Its second generation car Omega B was launched in 1993; car was a modified version of first generation.

High Marketing, Different Names in various Markets

Manufacturers have done high global marketing with different names since they have made official arrangements with particular countries leading manufacturers like in North America, it was introduced by the name Cadillac Catera, in South America it was accompanied by Chevrolet and named it Chevrolet Omega. In addition, it enters in British markets as Vauxhall Carlton. However, Australia was the manufacturing nation of the Omega until 1997 and later on in 1998 they start exporting cars to South America by the names Chevrolet Omega. Besides they also introduced it in Australian market as Holden Calais or Holden Commodore.

Shutdown without any alternative

Due to some inside reason manufacturer shutdowns the production Omega version in 2003 without providing any alternative. They have only left Australian plant that was shutdown later in 2006.

Today, there is no news about Opel Omega, but when it was there it has seen all the heights of success.
