Mitsubishi Lancer is produced through Japanese manufacturer by Mitsubishi Motors from 1973.It is also known with several names depending on different countries at several times. Sometimes it is known as Colt Lancer, Plymouth Colt, Chrysler Lancer, Hindustan Lancer, Eagle summit, Mitsubishi Mirage and Soueast Lioncel.

In Japan it is sold as Mitsubishi Galant Fortis since 2007. It is sold with the same name in Taiwan but with different facelift as compared to the Galant Fortis. There is a particular retail chain known as Car Plaza where Lancer is sold in Japan. After its start in 1973 and the year 2008, more than 6 million Mitsubishi Lancers were sold.

The European Models

There is one model available in Europe with a diesel capacity of 2000cc that Volkswagen built it. There are different specifications of several models. It differs from the United Kingdom to Republic of Ireland. The body styles available in Lancer are either a sportback or 4-door saloon.

Engines are 109 bhp with four cylinder petrol and 1.8 petrol. Trim levels basically are a base for sedan and invitation to the Sportback. That is more like a basic version in comparison to European market.
