Mitsubishi L200: Is It The Real Barbarian?

The Mitsubishi Triton is a compact pickup truck manufactured and marketed by Mitsubishi motors, which was better known as Mitsubishi Forte. Its production started in the year 1978 and Mitsubishi decided to take it off the production in the year 1986. This particular pickup truck wasn’t sold in the home market for some time.

The vehicle returned to Japan in the year 1991 and it was sold as Strada. 2 Captive imports of Forte in United States were sold by the Chrysler Corporation for the year 1979 as the Plymouth Arrow Truck and Dodge Ram 50.

Mitsubishi itself imported the vehicle as Mighty Max and sold it directly in the United States from 1982 to 1996. The Mighty Max was not offered in North America and the Mitsubishi Raider was offered at the same time, which shared its platform with the Dakota. In Japan, the car was sold at a retail chain known as Car Plaza.

For most of the exports, the L200 name is used and it is known as the Colt, Rodeo, Magnum, Storm, and L200 Strakar. The combined sales of first three generations exceeded 2.8 million units across the globe.
