Lancia Ypsilon: A Woman’s Best Friend

The Lancia Ypsilon is a luxury super mini car produced by Lancia, which was launched in the year 1996. It is larger and far more expensive than others in its sgement. Ypsilon was produced from 1995 to 2005 in the Melf factory. The company manufactured almost 870,000 units of Ypsilons. The 3rd generation Ypsilon is also sold as Chrysler Ypsilon in UK, Japan, and Ireland.

Ypsilon is powered by a famous 4-cylinder 1.2L engine. In the year 2006, the company made changes to its power-train and a new 1.4 L 16-valve 79 HP engine replaced the 1.2L pot.

The 1.4 L engine is capable of producing 95 PS, and then one could see a new 1.3 L Multijet diesel engine on models produced between 2003 and 2006 with 70PS to 75 PS output. New powerful and sporty 90 and 105 PS engines were introduced later on. The Multijet engine with DPF has superior power output, but lower fuel efficiency.
