Honda Prelude: Do You Need This Sports Car?

Honda Prelude is a sports coupe manufactured and produced by Honda until 2001. The car was introduced in the year 1979 and it was the first exciting car that held the true Honda values of reliability and intelligent design. It was outfitted with power engines in the later generations, and built around drivability and handling, offering enough power to remain more competitive in the segment.

The Prelude name was originally trademarked by Toyota, but was amicably given to Honda for usage. It was the first in a series of vehicles from Honda with musically related names, with the Prelude being joined by Quintet, Concerto and Ballade.

Prelude competitors include Nissan Silvia, Toyota Celica, and Mitsubishi Eclipse, and its Production was halted in the year 2001. Honda pioneered several new technologies on Prelude like fuel injection, 4-wheel steering, and active Torque transfer system. It was the first vehicle from Honda to get VTEC (Variable Timing Engine Technology) as well, and that’s why it holds a very prominent place in history of Honda cars.
