Honda NSX: The Road Needs This Car

Honda NSX is a sports car that was produced in the year 1990, whose production ended in 2005. NSX was manufactured by Honda, the renowned Japanese automaker, and the vehicle was equipped with a rear wheel drive layout and a mid-engine. It was powered by a V6 gasoline engine that featured Lift Electronic Control system and Variable Valve Timing.

The 2nd generation NSX made its debut as a concept model in the year 2012, equipped with an AWD Hybrid engine and the same vehicle is scheduled to enter production by 2015. The company claims that the future NSX will certainly provide “supercar” acceleration along with exceptional efficiency.

The time when it was released in the year 1990, concept version of NSX measured 141.3 mm taller and 1,170 mm in height and showcased the automaker’s technology.

Honda’s competitive history and race track innovations were further illustrated on the road with NSX’s ultra-light, ultra-rigid, aluminum monocoque chassis, forged control arms, rear double wishbone suspension, and alloy wheels.

It is the first car to feature an engine with forged pistons, titanium connecting rods, and ultra high-revving capabilities. All the traits were associated with the race engineered motor cars.

Despite many innovations, NSX never saw big numbers with respect to sales after its debut. During 15 years, the company managed to sell only 8,900 NSXs, while Chevrolet sold that many Corvettes in just 1 year!
