Honda CR-X: A Reasonable Performance-Car Value

Honda CRX was launched as Honda Ballade CR-X in Japanese markets. It is a front wheel drive car manufactured in the year 1983. CRX was eventually replaced by CR-X Del Sol in the year 1992.

In United States, CR-X was marketed as an economy sport fastback with room for 2 passengers. The European version received a 130 HP engine and seating capacity for 4 passengers. The vehicle was redesigned for the year 1988 and automakers continued this redesigned version till 1991. CR-X became more popular for its outstanding performance, superior fuel efficiency, and nimble handling.

In the year 1992, the company replaced the CR-X with new Targa topped model called Civic Del Sol. It is simply known as Honda Del Sol. It is also badged as CR-X in few markets. Del Sol is considered as the third generation vehicle and it is arguably the most different car; Honda tried to make the new generation vehicles with new design.

For US customers, Del Sol was released in different trim levels: SI, S, and VTEC. Vehicles manufactured between 1994 and 1997 are featured a 160Hp DOHC VTECH engine. Performance of Del Sol was decent, and it was sensibly priced too, no wonder it gained popularity in short period of time. Production of Honda Del Sol ended in the year 1997.

In the year 2010, after the end of CRX production, the company released new CRZ as a successor to CRX. The new CRZ released by Honda has got all kinds of essential safety amenities along with many luxury features, and it looks quite trendy too.
