Earlier Transit was designed only for the European consumption but now Ford Transit is produced in North America, Asia along with Europe for global buyers. Transit’s sixth generation was launched in the year 2013 in the first month of the year at an Auto show.
Transit in North America
The availability of new Transit comes in passenger van, cargo van as well as chassis configurations. While in vans there are three diverse roof heights. Outside North America, the engine and other configurations are carried over from previous generations. All models of North America have automatic transmission as well as drive train with rear wheel. It uses 3.7L Ti-VCT which can also be converted for running on CNG or LPG.
