Daihatsu Terios: Perfectly Fits Where You Go
Daihatsu Terios was released in the year 1997 and categorized under mini SUV segment. The Japanese car manufacturer had released Terious with a 1.3L unit with 4-wheel and 2-wheel drive options. The power-train is teamed with a 4-speed manual or 5-speed manual transmission.
In order to meet the kei car regulations, the width of the 1st generation Terios was designed to be less than 1500mm. The car was also short and had lost the rear side window. The second generation model was developed by Toyota, the Japanese automotive giant. The first generation vehicle was available in 4-door styling, while the smaller kei model known as Terios kid was released only in Japan.
In the year 2000, the company had made changes to the interior and exterior, and one could see a new chrome grille installed, replacing the older plastic grille. The top-end version received central locking, electric front windows, alloy wheels, roof-mounted rear spoiler, rear seat head restraints, and roof rails.
When it comes to mechanical aspects, the older 1.3L SOHC 4-cylinder engine was replaced by a 4-cylinder 1.3 L DOHC engine. The overall power increased by almost 3KW. The sport version of the K3 VET power-train was manufactured in Japan.
