Chevrolet Equinox: A Highly Efficient Crossover

Equinox is a flagship Chevrolet SUV, which is based on Theta unibody platform of GM. It is a convenient crossover SUV manufactured at CAMI automotive plant, which is situated in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada. It was introduced in the market in 2004.

Equinox was the first compact and convenient crossover SUV rolled out by Chevrolet, which was marketed by GM. Its underlying platform is very similar to that of 2007 Suzuki XL7, GMC Terrain and Pontiac Torrent. Saturn Vue is almost comparable in size to the Equinox, and the Equinox comes with 112.5 inches (2,858) wheelbase, which is 5.9 inches (150mm) longer than Vue.

With not many changes in the front wheel and the drive being standard, Equinox is not designed primarily for serious off-roading experience. However, Tahoe and Trail-Blazer are the hard-core off-roading machines that provide you the ultimate driving experience across the hilly roads. For 2006, Equinox underwent a minor upgrade as it received the GM badges on front doors.
