Can-Am Spyder: Drive Like A Boss
The Can-Am Spyder, better known as the ‘Spyder’ is an ingenious three-wheeled motorbike that is a brain child of the Bombardier Recreational Products. This vehicle, much like the snowmobile, has two wheels in the front meant for steering and a single wheel at the rear. An ATV-like chassis is used in the Spyder. The Bombardiers like calling it the ‘roadster’ though in technical terms, the traditional name would be ‘trike’.
The Spyder has pretty good features like antilock brakes, amazing stability control and traction. The Spyder has been listed and licensed as a motorcycle in most of the US states. A regular driver’s licence is alone required in the states of California and Delaware though the usual helmet laws apply in the state of California like they have for motorcycles.
Some of the other amazing features of the Spyder include:
- Reverse gear.
- Electric shift transmission that is optional.
- Brakes present both at the front as well as the rear; they are both controlled by the same pedal at the foot.
At the front of the vehicle, under the ‘hood’ (or so you may call it) is the luggage space. Extra accessories like the top boxes and saddle bags are also available to improve its storage capacity.
