Cadillac SRX: The In-Depth Review

SRX, an exponentially superior and nimble crossover was developed by Cadillac division of General Motors in 2004. Produced by the famous American car manufacturer, it isn’t surprising to see why SRX has been named as bestselling car in US. The demand for this mid-size luxury car has been growing ever since 2010, as it introduced SRX in an all-new version.

For 2010, the automaker launched new SRX that shared counterparts with PROVOQ concept car. Moreover, AWD Theta Premium platform was also used in the making that made this model most unique in the whole segment, despite sharing some parts with Epsilon II and Theta. The V8 powered engine was dropped from 2010 and 2nd generation models were available for the price of $34,200.

The second generation SRX was powered by 3.6-L V6 and 3.0L V6 engines. The powerful 3.6-L engine was the direct adoption of CTS, while the 2.8-L V6 (turbocharged) was optionally available too.

In early 2011, the automaker stopped the production of 2.8-L V6 engine, stating poor demand. With less number of people opting for turbocharged power-train, SRX being equipped with 3.0L V6 engine became the only choice for 2011.

The 3.6-L V6 engine with E85 was replaced with V6 engine for 2012 model year. Standard on all2013 SRX trims, Cadillac User Experience (infotainment system) blends highly intelligent design with Smartphone technology.
