Buick Enclave: From Concept To Reality

Buick Enclave was launched for the first time in the year 2007 by General Motors as a 2008 model. 2008 Enclave was a full-size luxury CUV, and all the vehicles like Buick Enclave,Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia shared General Motor’s Lambda platform.

Buick Enclave shares the platform of large crossovers and it also features fashionable interior, a commanding 3.6-L V6 engine and plenty of boot space and cargo for both the passengers. If you are looking for used or new luxury crossover SUV, then Enclave can be considered as the better choice available.

2008 Enclave was previewed at North American International Auto Show held in the year 2006. The car is based on the concept version of Buick Centime, previewed at the 2003 Detroit Auto Show. Enclave has replaced both the SUVs, the truck-based Rainier and the minivan based Rendezvous.

When it comes to power-train, Enclave shared its engine specs with its Lambda siblings. It is powered by a 3.6-liter 275HPV6 engine that is mated with a 6-speed auto transmission. For the year 2009, it was incorporated with a 3.6-liter V6 Direct Injection Spark Ignition. Buick Enclave made its debut with a starting price of US$ 32,970.

Other upgrades for the year 2008 include additional traffic updates for the navigation system, and Bluetooth connectivity. For the year 2010, GM reprogrammed the transmission system for better response.

For the year 2010, trim levels were revised and it had received more descriptive base, premium and leather trims. For the year 2010-12, the company had made changes with respect to exterior, and turned Enclave into a solid choice in the crossover SUV category.

It’s still considered to be one among the best crossovers ever created by the company to date.
