Bajaj Pulsar: Definitely For Men

The Bajaj pulsar is the popular motorcycle of the Bajaj auto in the India. This two wheeler was engineered by the division of Bajaj auto with research and development of Tokyo, and later designed with the Glynn Kerr. At present there are 5 models of the motorcycle available in the market with engine capacities 220 cc, 200 cc, 180 cc, 150 cc and 135 cc.

Success of pulsar

Earlier the motorcycle was also available with an engine capacity of two hundred cc DTS-I oil cooled engine, but now it is not available in the market. Instead a new version of the motorcycle is available which is known as the pulsar two hundred NS; it was launched in the year 2012. The sales of the motorcycle in the market got average response that is 86,000 units in the year 2011, after which it claimed a share in the market of forty seven percent in the segment. By the month of April in the year 1978 more than 5 million pulsar units were sold in the market. From 1978-2007 the motorcycle was named after Nissan pulsar.

Performance bikes

Before the launch of the pulsar, the Indian market of the motorcycle was more focus towards fuel efficient small capacity bikes that was having an 80-125 cc class. In the Indian market bigger versions of the motorcycle do not exist except the Enfield bullet. The introduction and success of the CBZ Hero Honda in the year 1999 showed that performance bikes are more on the demand. From there Bajaj auto took the cue and launched the twin pulsar in the year 2001 in India. Since the launch and success of the pulsar, the youth of India began expecting a bike having more power and all the other features from the motorcycle which are affordable.

The project of the bikes was faced with the in-house conflict, by Mckinsey reservations and doubts about the effect on the relation of Bajaj with Kawasaki. The project of the bikes needed approximately thirty six months for the cost and completion one billion.
