At the end of the year 2004, the 147 model was provided a facelift along with new headlights, interior, rear lights, interior and the front grille. These upgrades were provided for all the versions of this model except the GTA version. Along with this, the suspension of the model was tweaked and a diesel engine providing more power was added.

With a limited slip differential at the front Torsen, the new 1.9-JTD-Q2 version of 147 was launched. Another model with 170PS JTD diesel engine and Q2 differential, Ducati Corse, a limited edition, was launched at the Bologna Motor Show in 2007.
