According to the Department of Justice of the United States on Wednesday (19), Toyota admitted that eluded American consumers by making misleading statements and omitting about two security issues, and each one of them caused a kind of unintended acceleration, said Department of Justice.

The agreement ends the investigation started four years ago by the U.S., authorities already after the beginning of the recall of several models of Toyota and Lexus process.

"My hope and expectation is that this resolution will serve as a model for how to approach future cases involving companies in a similar situation," U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder told a news conference on Wednesday.
