BMW will not release new models

A top executive of BMW said the automaker will not add a third model to its line "i" until the company has a better idea of the demand for models i3 and i8 , existing, although the manufacturer already has the trademark for a further series with the name i9.

"We need to see how the demand for cars grows," said Harald Kruger, member of the board of management of BMW responsible for manufacturing, Reuters, adding that the i8 will be released early this year.

The German manufacturer has invested 2 billion euros in its range of electric vehicles and says it has more than 11,000 applications for the i3 hatchback. Krueger took the opportunity to prove that there are no plans to produce the i3 in China.
