Audi DTM car launches in Geneva
The Audi presented today (4), at the Geneva RS 5 TMD, your new DTM car, main category of tourism in Europe. The novelty appears a day after rival BMW has shown its new machine.
The car has a new aerodynamic package, redesigned rear, revised wheel arches, plus minor changes to better aerodynamic flow. Other changes are in the axles front and rear suspension.
The car also has a new front grille and air intakes, seeking better direct airflow for cooling the engine and brakes. Visually there is not much difference from its predecessor, but according to the head of Audi design, Stefan Aicher, DTM rules are rigid and so the details need to be worked within the constraints imposed by the regulation.
The car will hold its first test in Budapest, Hungary this month. With it, the brand will defend the drivers' title, which was won last year by German Mike Rockenfeller.
